Chef notes
Layer in two rounds so every chip gets turkey, stuffing and cheese. A single layer on top leaves the bottom chips bare.
Substitutions
- Cooked turkey — shredded rotisserie chicken
- Cranberry sauce — cranberry relish or lingonberry jam
- Sharp cheddar — Monterey Jack or pepper jack
Serving suggestions
Serve straight from the pan with extra hot gravy on the side for dipping.
Storage
Best eaten fresh. Leftovers keep 1 day in the fridge in an airtight container, though the chips soften.
Reheating
Reheat in a 350°F (180°C, gas 4) oven for 5 minutes to crisp the chips again, then add fresh cranberry sauce.
Equipment
- Large sheet pan
- Aluminium foil
- Mixing bowl
Variations
- Spicy: add sliced jalapeños and pepper jack cheese
- Vegetarian: swap the turkey for roasted butternut squash and extra stuffing
Why it works
Hot gravy and melted cheese glue the toppings to the chips, while the tart cranberry sauce cuts through the richness of the turkey and stuffing.
Frequently asked questions
Can I make Thanksgiving nachos ahead of time?

What turkey works best for Thanksgiving nachos?
Leftover roast turkey is ideal, but shredded rotisserie turkey or thick-sliced deli turkey work just as well.
